How To Start a Logistics Business in Nigeria – (10 Easy Steps)

0

Have you ever want to launch your own logistics business in Nigeria but don’t know how to start or what exactly to do? I’m going to show you an easy and practical approach to starting a profitable logistics or delivery business in the country.

Do you know that some businesses are complementary to others? Yes, they work for the benefit of both businesses. And in this age of the Internet, the tendency to shop online continues to increase as the days go by, hence, the need for a complementary service, that’s a service to fulfill the deliveries.

Logistics or delivery business in Nigeria or any place in the world is not ending soon because almost all e-commerce business owners or companies are now on the internet and they need a logistics company to help bridge the gap between the end of the buyers.

Just in case you don’t know much about the logistics business, below is a quick explanation;

Understanding How Logistics Business Work

In a business sense, logistics aid the movement of goods/services from the manufacturer/wholesaler to the consumer. By definition, it sounds simple but by the implementation, it is rather complex. This is why manufacturing firms sparingly have their own logistics team—relying on an independent logistics company.

Logistics companies are tasked with the responsibility of the planning, implementing, and movement of goods, services, and other valuables from the point of origin to the final consumer. The origin of logistics can be traced back to world war 1 (WWI) and WWII where the military had to make supplies available for their soldiers.

Logistics is now a full-fledged business today and lots of money can be made. This is why I’ve made this post to guide you on starting a logistics business in Nigeria.

If you have ever shopped on Jumia, Konga, Amazon, Aliexpress, and other top online shopping sites, I’m sure you understand that the guy or company that picked the products from the manufacturer’s warehouse and delivered to you, in operating under what we know as logistics business.

Now, let’s talk about starting your own logistics business in Nigeria or anywhere in the world!

How to Start a Logistics Business in Nigeria: 10 Steps!

#1. Develop Your Business Plan

Writing your business plan is the first step to take when starting a logistics business in Nigeria. Many take this for granted but having one is pretty important. You really don’t need to have good writing skills or be a business expert before crafting a good business plan.

Although, there are a lot of services that can assist you in generating a business plan I advise you to write manually or hire the someone who can personally do it for you.

Since your business plan will be your guide as you grow your logistics business, a personalized version will always come in handy. I won’t go into great detail here as we already have a post on writing a business plan and a free template.

Check this guide on how to write a good business plan.

So, let’s talk about the next important step!

#2. Get Your Capital

After your business plan, the next thing is to get your capital – which you know is very important. And there are several ways you can source for your capital. You can choose to finance it personally or get a loan from the bank.

Getting a loan or financing your logistics business yourself has its pros and cons and it’s totally up to you. Lots of commercial banks would be willing to offer you a loan, you can as well apply for business grants which will save you from the stress of providing collaterals.

Once the funding is acquired, the next step is to;

#3. Get an Office Space

You don’t need a big warehouse, but an office where you can attend to clients and enquires in case a company or a customer need to see you before transacting with your company.

Ensure your office is well decorated, not beautifully but professionally.

Note that;

  • Your main office should be separated from where you keep customer goods
  • Your office should be easily located, don’t rent an office space very far to the main road
  • Your business location should be google (You can hire me for this)

If you’ve got your office space, then do this:

#4. Choose Your Delivery Mode

Logistics business in Nigeria can take different forms. We’ve got companies who make use of motorcycles, buses, mini-vans, or trucks. You can start with one of these, or you could mix them up for flexibility.

Knowing what means to use for transportation will determine what you choose to use as your capital. Using a motorcycle/bike means less capital expenditure but also, it limits you to carry certain goods.

Also, you’d be choosing between:

  • Intra-state (e.g within Lagos state)
  • Inter-state (e.g Within and outside Lagos state – to Kwara State, etc.)
  • Inter-countries (e.g from the USA, China, etc to Nigeria)

Or perhaps, you can decide to do both but keep in mind that you’ll have to learn more travel routes in a short span of time.

Okay, the next up in purchasing the tools needed for your business and also, hiring some personnel to fill out different positions. From our definition of logistics, it is very evident that you will be needing a good number of workers to ensure everything is carried out seamlessly.

#5. Buy Necessary Equipment & Vehicles

You need to buy important Items like computers, stationery, dispatch box, telephones are some of the important items needed to run a successful logistics business in Nigeria. With these and more in place, it is expected that you have an effective logistics business like the top brands in the country.

Considering your mode of delivery, you can buy some motorcycles or small buses and brand them with your business identity, just like the like of Jumia, etc.

Some logistics companies also partner with taxi drivers and okada riders to fulfill the deliveries instead of using their own cars, motorcycles, and drivers.

If you want to deal with inter-countries, then you need to grow your network with aviation companies.

#6. Setup a team or Employ Staff

About getting the necessary requirements, the next big deal is to set up your own team or employ some people to work with you.

Also, make sure to hire staff to fill out different positions and not just drivers. Asides from delivery, business management, customer care service, and planning need to be top-notch which the driver can’t do.

This team or staff includes;

  • The drivers (if you have motorcycles or buses)
  • The customer care agents
  • The marketing team

If you don’t have enough money to pay staff, you can hire university students, or those people who are smart and conversant enough, then train them yourself or hire an expert to come and train your team.

#7. Register Your Business

If you want your logistics business in Nigeria to be taken seriously as a business entity, then getting your business registered should be a top priority for you. These days people are getting more aware of fraudulent businesses. Failure to register yours puts up a red flag for potential customers.

Looking at it critically, the cost of registering your business with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission isn’t expensive, so why not do it? Starting with N10,000, you can register your business in Nigeria. If you have a business name already for your logistics company but don’t have enough funds to register, you can reserve your business name for 6 months with just a little token of N500.

Check out our post on how to register a business name in Nigeria.

If you need me to register the business for you, it cost N25,000 and I will get your business approved and your business registration certificate will be sent to you, or you collect it yourself.

#8. Go Digital with Your Business

The world is digital itself, all businesses are going digital and if you’re not on the internet, then you don’t have a business yet. And when I say you should go digital, I’m not saying you should just open social media pages and that’s all.

You should try and get a professional website, do your google business listings, list your logistics business on business directories, do Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and of course, your business social media pages are important.

If you need a professional website design or development, my Web Design and Digital marketing agency can handle that for you. Kindly contact me here or visit our website here >>> https://www.gbolabyte.com

We can also handle your digital marketing, google business listing, SEO, and other digital or remote tasks you need us for.

Remember that most of your customers are online, you also need to get your business and the first approach is to get a business website for your logistics business in Nigeria.

#9. Brand Identity Design & Branding

Business identity and branding will really differentiate your business from other logistics businesses in Nigeria. When it comes to branding, you need the service of a professional graphics designer.

Note that some graphic designers are not experts when it comes to branding.

Branding is more than designing a logo, it involves anything that will make your business stands out. Brand Identity designer offers everything ranging from your logo, icons, social posts banners, ID cards for your staff, brand your company vehicles, brand your office equipment, and everything brandable.

This is very important and it goes along with your marketing, that’s what I’ll be explaining last!

#10. Market Your Business.

You’ve come a long way in starting your logistics business in Nigeria. As a new player, unless you’re extremely lucky, no one is going to find out about you. Which is why you’ve got to market your brand.

The top logistics firms in Nigeria like GIG Logistics, Creseada International Limited, Ocenj Logistics, and more didn’t get to where they are today by chance. They sent the word out about their business and then delivered on the customer’s expectations.

And in this age of the Internet, it’s much easier to market your business by using available tools like social media. Remember, you’ve got to offer something different from the rest, or make a service offered by your competition better. With these, your logistics business will soar to great heights.

Part of your marketing strategy is to try and connect with e-commerce website owners or companies in Nigeria so that they can recommend you to their customers. Try to reach out to these companies and your business network will continue to grow.

CONCLUSION – How to Start a Logistics Business in Nigeria

E-commerce is getting bigger by the day in Nigeria and this is why the logistics business in Nigeria as a complimentary service is getting more traction. And yes, like every business, this has its own risks but with a good management team, these risks can be reduced to its bare minimum.

At the moment, the logistics space in Nigeria isn’t that saturated which is a good reason to start as soon as you can. As you do, keep in mind the steps above as they’ll be your guide when you experience obstacles.

So, over to you, when do you wish to start your logistics business in Nigeria? And if you own one already, how did you start yours? Let’s hear from you!

PayPal to Allow Buying, Holding and Selling of Cryptos By 2021

0

This is nothing but good news as the digital payment giant, PayPal set to allow the buying, holding, and selling of cryptocurrencies by early 2021. Although Skrill and CashApp have this feature in their product it’s not as popular enough as PayPal.

PayPal boasts of 26 million customers across the world, where most of these customers are cryptocurrency enthusiasts but they had no choice but to stick to their cryptocurrency wallet apps.

PayPal Holdings, Inc. gladden the hearts of its users when they announced on the 20th of October, 2020 that we can be able to buy, sell, or HODL cryptocurrencies on our PayPal accounts without connecting or linking to an external crypto exchange service.

Just in case you don’t know;

PayPal is an American company offering online payment systems for its users since 1998. The company allows its users to send, receive money, and also buy or pay for something online.

Since the company has been actively operating, they deal with currencies like USD, EUR, GBP, and other popular currencies spend in different countries of the world, but since cryptos are not used popularly as means of exchange of goods and services, PayPal hasn’t added cryptos to its platform.

You might be thinking…

Will this Cryptos Features Be Available on Nigeria PayPal Accounts?

Well, I’m not sure until when PayPal finally offers the Cryptos services by early 2021 as they’ve announced. But the chance that we will have this Cryptos feature in our Nigeria PayPal accounts is very lean.

Recall that PayPal itself is not 100% available in countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, etc… Nigeria’s PayPal can only be used to purchase something online, it cannot send out funds not to talk of withdrawing money to your local bank account.

RELATED: How to Create and Verify PayPal Account in Nigeria

But if this PayPal cryptos service really works in our PayPal, then, that will be the best thing that has ever happened in Nigeria’s global payment sector after the acquisition of Nigeria’s fintech startup, Paystack by Stripe.

But let’s just hope for the best, as PayPal said they plan to make sure its crypto service is available as a source of funds to its 26 million users across the world (They haven’t made any exemption yet).

But why is PayPal venturing into Cryptos all of sudden?

That’s one of the questions people may need to find answers to.

Of course, PayPal has been existing since two decades ago, and Crypto is neither a new thing as well. But according to a press statement quoted by Nairametrics, the president and CEO of PayPal, Dan Schulman said the reason why Paypal is going into cryptocurrency is that:

“The shift to digital forms of currencies is inevitable, bringing with it clear advantages in terms of speed, the ability for governments to disburse funds quickly, resilience, efficiency, financial inclusion, and access.”

The PayPal CEO further said they’re working with central banks and financial regulators around the world to offer their support in shaping the impact of digital currencies globally.

The digital payment company has been granted conditional Bitlicense by the NYPDFS, the New York State Department of Financial Services in other to encourage or support New York consumers through a partnership with the city authorized virtual currency companies.

How PayPal is going to achieve this Cryptos’ Feast?

A licensed and regulated crypto services provider company known as PAXOS Trust Company made it possible for PayPal to achieve their dream of offering crypto services to its 26 million (and new users) across the world.

CONCLUSION:

This is a great development and we are expecting to see this amazing feature soon! Even if PayPal will not allow Nigeria’s PayPal accounts to enjoy this crypto service, I believe it will still be of benefit to those currency exchangers in Nigeria – provided they play along smartly.

Since you’re here;

#EndSARS #PoliceBrutalityinNigeria #BadGovernance

I feel so disturbed seeing unarmed protesters being killed by Nigerian security agencies just for protesting peacefully against the bad omens in the country.

Everywhere is risky and in chaos, war is subtly escalating!

I really wish I can call every and each reader of my blog, pertaining to this our dear country – Nigeria.

A lot has been happening in the country which has negatively affected us democratically. Nigeria is the world poverty capital of the world but yet, we have the richest politicians in the world. Our reputation is not good globally and the whole Nigeria system (Education, infrastructure, employment, government, and everything)  is a SCAM.

….and, it’s time things change for the better.

For example, we need a country where foreign investors and company will be glad to work with. That’s why thousands of patriot Nigerian youths are protesting against Bad governance, Police brutality, and other bad things happening in the country.

But right now, as your brother, friend or son, kindly stay INDOOR for now. This is not the right time to REVENGE, let’s stay SAFE and come back stronger.

World powerful organizations such as the UK parliament etc., are interfering. And hopefully, the ICC and the United Nations won’t ignore us.

Please stay INDOOR, that’s the best precaution to stay SAFE, this is not Corona Virus, this is more brutal than COVID-19.

Stay at HOME, Stay SAFE!!!

8 Effective Ways to Reduce Your Household Expenses

0

Are you finding it quite difficult to reduce your household expenses? Okay, don’t feel depressed, this page is what you need to get motivated and take that action!

Among all lessons we have learned during this COVID-19 “pandemic period”, one good lesson we should always stick to,  is how to manage our funds and resources. Millions of people across the world became unemployed as a result of this world-renowned virus, but how do they survive? By simply cutting their expenses and wise management of their savings.

It is very important we learn how to manage our money wisely, or hence, we might end up becoming financially broke or a debtor. I know you don’t want that!

Today I’ll be showing you how to reduce your budget and lower your household expenses. These tips work for everybody, regardless of who you are, either you’re a 9-5 employee or an entrepreneur.

So, let’s check them together!

8 Ways To Reduce and Manage Your Household Expenses

Tip #1. Cut Off Your Cell Phone Plan

Having and using a cell phone is quite expensive when studied critically. No doubt they’re beneficial… but we also get charged for services, tax, etc., that we can’t even explain. This is why it’s important to choose a good cell phone plan.

According to NCC (Nigeria Communication Commission), Nigerians collectively spent about N450 Billion per month on recharge cards and data connections. That is approximately $1.17 million spent every month on cell phone plans.

You know what?

The amount of money spent on recharge cards and data connections covered about 73% of Nigerians’ expenses while the remaining 27% covered foodstuff, emergency funds, skincare, and other personal stuff.

I’m sure you’re one of those people enriching these telecommunication companies every month, I personally buy data worth N15,000 every month!

We need to learn how to reduce these expenses, and the best way we can do that is to reduce the hours we spent on social media apps (especially, Instagram and Facebook), YouTube, and online streaming sites.

Also, a prepaid plan is the most suitable option. You can get it with the major carriers at almost half the price of the regular plan. The beauty of prepaid plans are the added bonuses and incentives. Things like unlimited calls, unlimited SMSs, reduced call rates, and lots more.

If you’re looking to save some bucks, cut the regular plan and switch to a prepaid plan.

Tip #2. Do Away With Cable Subscription

One of the best ways you can reduce your household expenses is by ditching your cable plan. I know it feels good to lay on the couch after the day’s work… sipping your favorite drink… watching a good movie. I get it. But you’re on a budget and some things have to go.

Thankfully, we have digital platforms today where you can watch your favorite TV and sports shows. You can watch TV on YouTube, Netflix is a good option—it costs less per month, Showbox for Android users is great, or you could get a fire stick.

There are lots of these services out there, using any will help in maximizing your finances in the long run.

Tip #3. Get an Insurance

We live in a world where everything is risky either on land, in water, or at home. Accidents can happen anytime, you can start developing a kind of sickness any day, your car might develop faults and different unforeseen circumstances that may suddenly require you to spend money.

Sometimes, you have to borrow money from your friends, co-operative society, or take a loan from your bank, in order to take care of those issues.

But to help you manage your funds and reduce your expenses, Insurance plans are ready to cover that for you.

If you are a car owner, it is very important to have auto insurance. It comes in handy because you never know when uncertainties or accidents may occur. But the cost of these plans does take a toll on your finances.

If your business requires traveling a lot, you can opt-in for travel insurance, and you can do the same for health insurance.

You can always shop around for a less expensive plan. The big carriers tend to charge you higher than necessary. This may be due to you having certain covers you don’t need at the moment, or you’re probably in a wrong plan.

Take out time to review your current insurance plan, do away with covers you don’t need. Or better still, check out smaller firms with similar benefits but at a lower cost.

Tip #4. Cancel Memberships

Membership plans do get you exclusive features and other juicy benefits. This could be membership plans from your gym, Netflix, Amazon, or Audible. Whatever it is. If it’s not necessary at the moment, cancel it.

You wouldn’t miss much. There are alternatives you could check out: YouTube for Netflix, visit a local library in place of Audible, and work out at home instead of going to the gym. Remember, you’re trying to cut costs.

Tip #5. Consider Reducing Your Rent

It’s time to do away with luxurious living if you stay in a rented apartment. Take for instance you live in a 3 bedroom apartment…you could switch to a 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom to reduce household expenses.

Also, if you can, assuming this wouldn’t affect your work: try switching locations if possible. Certain areas are characterized by huge housing costs but you can change to less expensive areas if possible.

I know a guy who spent up to $2,500 (N800,000) on his new rented apartment, he had enough money in his savings to take care of feeding and other necessary stuff for the few months. But as an entrepreneur, he invested the savings on a business which went against him!

Dude is broke, and the next thing for him is to relocate to a small apartment which will cost N40,000 per year ($100/yr) instead of his previous N90,000 per year ($220/yr).

So, don’t be afraid to reduce your rent, change the location, and start looking for the bigger picture (stabilizing your business and getting your own house).

Tip #6. Cook in Your House, Stop Eating Outside!

Yes, you read right. And you’re asking if it’s possible? Of course, it is possible. We don’t tend to keep records of how much we spend on food and restaurants. I don’t do that.

And so we go ahead without knowing because we think the amount we spend per meal or snack is little. No, it’s not. When summed up, we could see how much we’ve spent and how big the amount is.

I was a regular fan of a restaurant close to my house. I spent up to N1500 on every meal. To me, I thought that’s cool and not too much to satisfy my belly. But at the end of the first 30 days, I realized that N45,000 has left my pocket on just a 1-square meal per day. And that doesn’t include the transport fare to buy the food, the tips, and money spent on food for another 2-square meal.

Averagely, I spent up to N60,000 in that month on food.

Again, you may think it’s very small when you’re spending it, but when you calculate the total money spent at the end of the month, you’ll see how much you’ve spent.

So, I decided to start buying foodstuffs and cooking at home (I have kitchen utensils already). I spent an average of N15,000 per month on foodstuff, and like N200 per day on other things I need to buy, that is N6,000.

It means I spend N21,000 on food I prepare myself instead of the previous N60,000 on outside food (saving N39,000)!

So please… stop eating out. Start cooking at home and see how much of an impact it makes. Yes, it might be difficult but you need to stop.

Tip #7. Reduce Your Grocery Bill

Staying with our previous tip, I asked you to cook at home. But wait! What if you’ve been spending more than you should on groceries? If you’re guilty of this (maybe you’re not) here’s how you can reduce your grocery bill.

You can start patronizing stores that offer discounts. Others may have deals like “By One, Get One Free”, or you could shop online using coupons. Don’t tell me you don’t love those deals…those discounts. You do, right? So go ahead and change your grocery store or supermarket.

Buy your groceries in bulk instead of buying at a very expensive price per one or two.

Also, notice those things you don’t really use and stop buying them or maybe, reduce the quantity.

Tip #8. Fancy Grooming… Are They Even Necessary?

Sure they are! I know we all crave those fancy stuff such as good shoes, chains, clothes, coffees with milk, cream, sugar, or whatever. But there comes a time when we need to sit back and ask: Do I really need this? Especially if you’re like me who is grinding to save some money.

Go get yourself a coffee maker and start making yours at home. If you’re not going to any occasion that demands you for new clothes, don’t buy it, if your shoe leather is getting worn-off, fix it by giving it to a professional shoemaker instead of disposing of it.

I know it’s convenient to get out there and fix your nails, make your hair, or do some makeup. Right now you need to consider doing these things yourself.

Are they difficult?

Not at all. Unless you’re too busy. If you’re not, pick up your phone and head over to YouTube to start learning these things and start saving money.

CONCLUSION – These Tips Will Help You Manage Your Funds and Reduce Your Expenses

There you have it: 8 Ways to Reduce your household expenses. I know we love to do all these things: we love to eat out, live in luxurious homes, have some fancy coffee daily, then come home to watch our cable TV.

But right now, you need to implement these tips above. If you can’t do it all, no problem. But make sure you implement the ones you can.

So over to you, which of these things will you be cutting? Let’s hear from you.

Davido dropped his first album Omo Baba Olowo in 2012. It included the following singles: Back When (2011), Dami Duro (2011), Ekuro (2012), Overseas (2012), All Of You (2012), Gbon Gbon (2012), and Feel Alright (2012). The album’s second single, Dami Duro, exposed Davido to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

His first album received low patronage from the musical audience in Nigeria. Music critics thought Davido’s songwriting prowess was below par. However, the album was nominated for the best album/album of the year for the Headies and Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

Davido hinted at a new album titled “The Baddest” which was to be released in 2015. However, it was delayed and then pushed to another date and that was all. The Baddest didn’t see the light of the day. But the artist did release other tracks.

The song, Gobe, was released on 25th February 2013. The track which was produced by Shizzi received positive comments from music enthusiasts in the country. On the 13th of May 2013, Davido released “One Of A Kind” which was also produced by Shizzi. The popular dance track, Skelewu, was also released in August of the same year.

A couple of months into the next year, Davido dropped another single, Aye, and released its video six days later. The audio and video for the track were produced by T-Spice and Clarence Peters respectively.

In a somewhat of a silent year, Davido featured Mafikizolo in his second track of the year, Tchelete (Goodlife). The next year, he dropped a new track titled “Fans Mi” which featured Meek Mill.

Davido went on to drop other tracks in 2015: Dodo, Owo Ni Koko, The Sound (ft. Uhuru and Dj Buckz), and The Money (ft. Olamide).

2016 was special for Davido, as he founded his record label: Davido Music Worldwide (DMW). And in a few months, he dropped his first EP titled “Son Of Mercy”. It compromised the following tracks: Gbagbe Oshi, How Long (ft. Tinashe), and Coolest Kid in Africa (ft. Nasty C.).

The news sparked lots of discussions among music enthusiasts.

10 Surefire Ways to Make Money on Facebook in Nigeria & Globally

Do you want to know how you can make money on Facebook in Nigeria or anywhere in the world? I guess that’s why you are here because you’re curious to learn how you can turn the time you spend on the social media app to cool CASH!

Today I’ll be showing you ten simple ways to earn some bucks on Facebook. Of course, there are many ways to make money online and social media platforms are playing vital roles in making these possible. Not only the fact that they can help your business grow, but you can also earn independently on them without selling anything, I will show you how.

But before then, you can check this related article on How to Make Money on Instagram.

Okay, back to the actual journey; Facebook is no longer a chat-only social media platform. It is an all-encompassing ecosystem for people around the world. This huge community creates an enabling environment for businesses of all kinds to thrive.

When I say huge, I mean more than 2.7 billion people in the world are active monthly on this platform, not to talk of several million in-active people. In Nigeria, more than 27 million people are regular users of Facebook.

But, few hundreds of these people know how to make money on Facebook in Nigeria and just millions out of the regular users in the world.

So, here are what you should do to make money on Facebook…

Surefire Ways to Make Money on Facebook in Nigeria and All Over the World

1. Sell Directly on Facebook

Do you run a business that sells products or services? Are you a fashion designer, shoemaker, graphic designer, or dropshipper or you have some courses (eBooks or videos) to sell? Your Facebook timeline can help you reach more people. I know you’ll be thinking that you’ve been doing that for a while but you’re not making sales.

This is the most basic way you can make money on Facebook today. It is the simplest form. You don’t need to pay for anything. You don’t need to have certain skills or qualifications… but you need to know how to sell.

On your “What’s on your mind?” box—where you normally post updates. There’s an option at the bottom: Sell Something. Once you select this option, you can then post whatever item you have for sale.

It’s pretty straightforward. Just post the product or service, add a description, you could also add your price if it’s convenient for you. Once you’ve done this, interested friends or followers will contact you to proceed with the sale.

But people on your timeline are mostly friends and family members who may naturally find it difficult to patronize you, there is a way out;

Join Commerce Groups and Pages!

Put simply: join buy and sell groups. And there you are asking: why should I join commercial groups when I can make sales directly on my timeline?

The answer: The same reason why people go to popular markets to sell.

You see…not everyone on your timeline will be interested in your product or service. But just like the traditional market, commerce groups bring buyers and sellers together.

You’re more likely to make sales on these kinds of groups than on your timeline.

2. Become An Influencer on Facebook

Let me ask you, how does the like of Sydney Talker, Nasty Blaq, Broda Shaggi and those Instagram comedian make money, do they sell disks? No! They make money on Facebook and other social media platform by helping brands to advertise products or services.

Do you have a huge amount of friends or lots of followers on your Facebook page or group? If yes, then you can utilize this option. But if NO, you’ll need to have a little knowledge of digital marketing in order to advertise your page to get more likes and followers and engagement.

Also, you need to do something that can keep your followers engaged. As said earlier, the like of Broda Shaggi makes money on Facebook, but what do they do before that? They simply share their skits and people engaged massively with it.

You can also look for a way to keep Facebook users engaged, you can do that by posting videos that will attract people.

Once you’ve got all these, here’s how it works. Top brands reach out to you and pay you to advertise their product on your timeline. If you’re creative, you could make a lot of money from this method alone.

Influencer marketing is an effective way of creating publicity about a product or service. Brands have realized this and that’s why they spend money on influencer marketing.

3. Become a Freelance Facebook Page Manager

I know you currently own a Facebook account. And you manage everything that has to do with it. How about managing an account for people or brands who can’t manage theirs for a reason or two?

You can’t expect the likes of Dangote, Tony Elumelu, and other big brand owners to manage their company social media handles, they hire someone to do that for them.

Hey, I know you’re thinking that it’s not possible for those big men to hire you… I get you, the chances are rare to be honest, because they hire an HRO company to employ such staff.

But what if I tell you that there are people who are ready to pay you like their Facebook manager? Yes, I have worked with different people and I have earned by helping them to manage their Facebook pages, you too can!

Interesting right?

Here is what you need to do:

Go to a freelancing platform, set up an account as a social media or Facebook page manager, and start sending requests to those in need of your service.

I recommend freelancing platforms like FIVERR and Upwork, check the two websites and search for “Facebook page manager”, you’ll be surprised to see the amazing results.

4. Affiliate Marketing

This is one of the ways most people make money on Facebook. Affiliate marketing is almost similar to influencer marketing. The difference between the two is in payment: you get paid upfront to promote a certain product or service as an influencer.

With affiliate marketing, you get commissions for each product or service bought or used via your affiliate link. Many brands today also utilize affiliate or partner programs to publicize their products and services.

One good reason you should utilize affiliate marketing is that there is no limit on how much you can earn. Unless the product or service goes out of stock.

If this is what you can do, check these top 10 affiliate programs and how to build a successful affiliate marketing business.

5. Join & Monetize Facebook Creator Studio

Content creators! Facebook got something for you. If you’ve not heard of Creator Studio by Facebook, well…you’ve been missing out.

Facebook Creator Studio can be likened to WordPress for blogging. It comes with various tools to help you create quality content. But that’s not all. You can make lots of money by monetizing your Page. Oh yes! You need to have a page with good engagement.

Aside from influence marketing, you can also make money on Facebook by joining the Facebook creator studio and of course, you need something that will make you eligible for this, before you can be approved for its monetization.

You need to be a content creator, I mean you should have been doing something that keeps people engaged. some content creators earn some dollars through this facebook monetization.

According to Facebook, these are the few ways to monetize on Facebook using the creator studio, they are through;

  • Branded content: This is when you collaborate with brands by publishing content that features the brand.
  • Subscription groups: This is when you allow only those who pay you to join your Facebook group
  • Fans subscriptions: You fans can support you by donating some funds every month
  • In-stream ads: This lets you earn money on Facebook by displaying short video ads in your videos

This is very interesting, but you need to work hard and build an engaging audience. Also, you need to meet Facebook monetization policies.

6. Make Use of Short Links Services

This method won’t generate a lot of money but it’s a good way to earn passive income. It has to do with URL shortening services.

If you’re offering a free product or service… let’s say free download for instance. This method will compensate you for using short URLs.

Followers who click on such links may be shown a few seconds AD after which they can skip ahead to the main page. The more people who click on your shortened URL, the more money you make.

You can google search for paid link shorteners and apply for as many as possible, and get some links that people will love to read, shorten them and share to some Facebook groups (but don’t over-do this to avoid spamming and Facebook hates that, you might be restricted for a while).

7. Utilize Facebook Instant Articles/Audience Network

Just like Google AdSense, the Audience Network from Facebook allow publishers to earn money from their articles or videos. This method of making money on Facebook is quite similar to the one above.

As a blogger, you can take advantage of instant articles and make money as you publish posts.

Vloggers are not left out! They do make the most money as people tend to sway towards videos. If you create lots of authentic and entertaining videos, go ahead and get a page if you don’t have one already.

8. Facebook Marketplace or Facebook Shop

It’s sad to tell you that this feature is not available in Nigeria, China, and some part of the world. Facebook marketplace allows its users to have an online store on Facebook for free.

You know how online stores mean; you can upload your products and sell. That’s exactly what the Facebook marketplace is meant for.

9. Fundraising

Just like we have crowdfunding platforms, where you can raise money for a cause, you can also do that on Facebook. Go your settings or menu area in your Facebook app and you’ll see it there.

I don’t need to explain this much, it is straightforward.

  • Go to Facebook and create a new page with the same details used in your new Instagram account
  • Go back to Instagram and go to settings
  • Change your Instagram account to “Business Account”, you’ll be asked to link a Facebook page
  • Link the new Facebook page you just create
  • Start posting nice stuff
  • That’s how Instagram blogging starts!

But to start a better fashion blog, you need a website that you can host on your own domain and hosting. But the question here is this;

Instagram Vs Website: Which Is Better for Fashion Blogging

Having your own website for blogging is better than using Instagram for some reasons listed below:

  • Instagram is not your own! And you can be suspended or hacked anytime
  • You need large followings to make it on Instagram
  • You have more ways to make money with fashion blogging on a website than Instagram
  • You can write/explain thoroughly what you want to show or tell people
  • Your website is more brandable and presentable than your Instagram link

With those points, let’s talk about starting your fashion blog on a website.

To start a blog generally, you need what is called a CMS (content management system). We have some CMS or blogging platforms such as Drupal, Wix, Shopify, Joomla, Drupal, and so on. But the best CMS or blog publishing platform is WordPress!

We’re going to create your fashion blog using WordPress and later, I will show you 5 ways to make money as a fashion blogger.

How to Setup a Fashion Blog on WordPress

Before you can start any blog, you need a domain name, hosting, and theme. IF you have these 3 prerequisites, you can have a blog. Here is how to get started;

  • Choose a Good Micro-niche

“Fashion” is an industry or niche on its own and it’s very big (or broad as a niche). If you want to focus on everything “fashion”, you’re going to get tired very soon. So, you need to choose fashion micro-niche.

This is what I mean by a fashion micro-niche: You can be blogging about

  • kidswear
  • men wear
  • women wear
  • celebrities’ trendy fashion
  • Cosmetics
  • And some other micro-niches in Fashion

Don’t try to be everything, just choose a micro-niche, and being a fashion blogger will be easier and more organized.

  • Buy a Domain name and Hosting

A domain name is like an address to your house and it typically costs around $10 to $15 approximately depending on where you’re buying from. An example of a domain name is www.gbolamedia.com – which you can easily use to locate my blog anywhere in the world.

Then, you need to buy a hosting plan, which is like a house where you can store your files, your contents, and everything you need to have in your blog. It costs around $8 to $50 per month ($96 to $600 per year) and this also depends on the hosting company you’re buying from.

But you’re just starting a blog, you don’t need a very expensive hosting plan at first.

But you can get a hosting plan for $35 per year and domain name for just $8 with Namecheap hosting company here.

If you’re fast enough to click on this Namecheap link, you can definitely get a hosting plan for just $16/year approximately, and that amounts to just $26 per year after checkout.

The next thing after buying a hosting and domain is to connect them and install WordPress right away!

How to Install WordPress After Purchasing Hosting and Domain Name

These settings depend on where you bought the hosting and domain. But generally, you need to do the following:

  1. Login to your hosting account with your username and password
  2. Go to your Cpanel
  3. Locate “Softaculous” to Install WordPress
  4. If you don’t see Softaculous, simply click on WordPress icon
  5. Set your admin username and password (make sure you save this data)
  6. Finally, log in to your new WordPress blog using yourblog.com/wp-admin
  7. Start setting up your fashion blog!

If you bought your hosting and domain name from Namecheap, these two resources can help you install WordPress with ease:

How to Install WordPress on Namecheap

So, let’s start designing your fashion blog and the next step will show you how to do that.

  • Get a Clean WordPress Theme

Getting a WordPress theme is like getting everything you need to decorate your house beautifully. The interior and exterior design of your house depends on what you chose, the same thing applied to have a clean and beautiful WordPress blog.

There are thousands of free WordPress themes you can use to design your fashion blog. But these free themes are not advisable because some can kill your website and some others might not serve you the beautiful blog you need.

If you want to buy a WordPress theme, you can check out the best Theme Marketplace, ThemeForest. The price of these themes varies and you can get for as low as $30. To be sincere, 70% of themes cost $59, and 20% are more expensive than that while 10% are below $59.

If you think you can afford it, go to themeforest.com, click on the WordPress category or click here and search for “Fashion Blog”, the website will show you all WordPress themes related to fashion, preview them and choose the one that wins your heart.

After getting your theme, download it and the next thing is to install it. Here is how;

Installing WordPress Theme in Your Website/Blog

  • Login to your WordPress Admin dashboard
  • Click on “Appearance”, then “Themes”, Then “Add New Theme”
  • Clicking on “Add New Theme”, you’ll need to upload the theme you purchased
  • Finally, click on “Activate”
  • Start customizing it.

But if you can’t do all these technical stuff, you can hire a web designer to do it for you.

BIG DEAL: I can help you set up everything, design a very beautiful and responsive fashion or any blog at an affordable price. I’ll give you a premium WordPress theme for FREE too.

Top 10 Cryptocurrency Wallet Apps in Nigeria – And Some Tips

Today, we’ll see the top 10 cryptocurrency wallet apps in Nigeria.

I get it, you’ve begun your journey into the ever-changing world of cryptocurrency. The benefits you hear are amazing. The risks? Every business has its risks.

“This is wonderful,” you say to yourself. You dive in. You learn the fundamentals.

You’re eager to start trading. To see how lucrative cryptocurrency investment is. You don’t want to miss out on the rewards. But frankly speaking, you need a wallet; a cryptocurrency wallet where you can store your bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins you have.

And that’s a problem:

I mean, the problem of knowing which of the wallet apps is meant for you.

You’re overwhelmed…

…but you’re also smart! “There must be an answer,” you say. (Sure there is!)

So you beseech Google for answers:

  • What’s the best cryptocurrency wallet in Nigeria?
  • What’s the best Bitcoin wallet in Nigeria?
  • What’s the best Ethereum wallet in Nigeria?..

Enough of the search! Take a seat, because…

…you’ve come to the right place, I’ll be answering your questions. And at the end of this blog post, you’d be able to choose what’s best for you.

Also, I’ll also be highlighting the pros and cons of each cryptocurrency wallet app listed here.

But before we get to the list, let’s understand some of the basics:

What is a Cryptocurrency Wallet?

A cryptocurrency wallet is used to store digital money or currencies, just as we use conventional wallets to store our money. And in some cases, they double as a cardholder.

And to store your digital assets securely, certain features need to be in place. Unfortunately, not all wallets are secure.

We have two broad categories of wallets, which are:

  1. Full Node and
  2. SPV Wallets.

SPV Wallet is further divided into:

  • Hot wallets
  • Cold wallets

Cold Wallets are more secure since they are offline.

In contrast, Hot Wallets are not as secure and are less expensive as Cold Wallets. This is due to their online nature which makes them susceptible to remote attacks.

In this blog post, I’ll be focusing on Hot Wallets which are:

  • Web Wallets
  • Desktop Wallets
  • Mobile Wallets

Specifically, Mobile Cryptocurrency Wallets. And you may be thinking that…

Why Do I Need A Cryptocurrency Wallet?

You need a cryptocurrency wallet simply because of Security!

Let me explain: Storing your digital currencies on an exchange platform exposes your assets to risks, If the exchange gets hacked, you lose everything!

Since an exchange operates via an online structure, they run a risk of getting hacked.

We’ve had a lot of hacks in the crypto world:

Most recently, was the Italian cryptocurrency firm, Altsbit, which occurred in February 2020. They lost over $70,000 worth of cryptocurrency. A lot of traders lost huge sums due to this attack.

What’s my point?

Inasmuch as it is convenient to trade on exchanges, it is not a good option for holding cryptocurrencies. It is much safer to trade in chunks from your wallet, instead of risking it all on exchanges.

You should never store your digital assets on an exchange!

Now we’ve gotten that out of the way, what are the best cryptocurrency wallet apps in Nigeria?

We’re about to find out.

No, MLM is a very legit business, if you’re okay to run the business while prospecting new people to join your business tree.
