10 Latest Ways to Make Money Online in Nigeria (2022)

If you’re a smart Nigeria student, frustrated graduate or someone looking for a side job, then you may be among the hundred thousand people searching for the best ways to make money online in Nigeria.

Google Trends absolutely shows that keywords like “earn money in Nigeria”, “make money online in Nigeria”, “What can I do to make money online legally in Nigeria” and some related searches pertaining to these “making money online in Nigeria”.

Either you landed here through one of those “queries” above or through a social media hyping, you will learn some important ways you can easily earn a living working legally online in this country.

There are tons of people who makes a living online and which I’m personally among them.

Few of these people who are making hefty income online doesn’t have any offline business but yet, they are living a good life. While some are optimistic about making money online in Nigeria, others are still skeptical as to the genuineness of ways they can make few bucks using the internet, even if you tell them that you’re making money online, they will call you a scammer of “Yahoo-Yahoo boy”.

But whichever option you choose know this; the world is moving at an incredible fast pace and one of the ways to join the race is by going online, many offline businesses are beginning to utilize the internet to promote their businesses, ADs, campaigns, product information etc. are slowly drifting away from our traditional marketing platforms – TV and radio.

One of the unique benefits of doing business online is that; it opens up doors to reach a broad spectrum of audience unlike the normal offline business which has a limited reach. Another advantage of doing businesses online is its convenience; the ability to make money at any time and at your defined pace.

But you may be asking…..

What Do I Need to Make Money Online in Nigeria?

Before getting started with your online trade there are some basic things you need to take care of, I’ll be summarizing them below:

  • An Internet Enabled Device: There are many devices today which can access the internet but for making money online you’ll be needing a smartphone, tablet, PC or a laptop.

Based on experience and best practices, I’ll suggest you make use of a laptop; this will fasten things a little for you and it’s portable which means you’re going to make money even when on the go.

This are one of the many reasons why most online business persons prefer laptops to other gadgets when it comes to making money online in Nigeria. And if you can’t afford a laptop you can start with your smartphone or tablet.

  • A RELIABLE Internet Service Provider (ISP): I know this might sound like an irony to most Nigerians, but before you begin to make money online in Nigeria you’ll need to have good internet connectivity. I noted during my intro that ‘the world is moving at an incredible fast pace’ and you’ll need fast internet service if you want to succeed.

I will not be suggesting any Nigerian ISP to you because when it comes to internet speed a lot of things are considered; your location is key when it come to your ISP, my preferred internet service provider may not be the best in your location so you’ll have to experiment with different ISPs to choose the most suitable option.

NOTE: When choosing your ISP or gadget I’ll advise you go for the best specs; for your internet provider, go for the one with good 3G or 4G coverage. For your gadget, a laptop with 4GB RAM and above, 250+ GB ROM, a powerful processor and good battery life should serve you well.

  • YOUR PASSION: If you really want to make money online in Nigeria, then you need to have burning desire for it, irrespective of what people may be saying. Your passion is also what will keep you moving forward when it seems like things is not working for you as planned.

  1. Affiliate Marketing

As the name suggests, affiliate marketing is a form of marketing in which you’re credited a specified amount (known as commission) when someone purchases or use the service or product in which you’re marketing.

How does affiliate marketing works?

At the point of registration as an affiliate marketer you’d be given an affiliate link, if anyone purchases or uses a service with your link you’ll be paid a certain commission specified in the terms of service.

In clearer explanation, let say i have a big company that sells shoes. My marketing team will have a section for “affiliate marketers” where any interested person that i didn’t hire, will sign up to help me sell some of my shoes.

Remember, i didn’t hired them (affiliate marketers) but they can help me sell the shoes while i give them commission on each pair of shoes they sell. Let say, they sell the shoes at the rate of $100 and commission on each shoe is 20%, that means i will give them $20 on each shoes they sell.

If they are consistent and very brilliant in marketing, they can sell like 20 shoes per month, which is $20 x 20 shoes….. They make whooping $400 in a month!

Some of the places you can work as an affiliate marketer includes; Jumia, Alibaba, Amazon, clickbank etc

  1. Digital Marketing

Marketing as we know it is the promotion of a product or service.

Today, marketing has now gone more digital which means you can promote your product or service at the comfort of your home. Some firms pay good sums to promote their product or service online.

Unlike most ways of making money online, digital marketing requires adequate training. Therefore, it’s pertinent you get a good knowledge in this field before jumping in.

After your training you’d be able to make money online in Nigeria while offering digital marketing services.

There some skills you can learn under digital marketing to make money online in Nigeria. They includes:

  • Search Engine Optimization (or SEO): This is the process of ranking a website high on search engines (like google, bing, yandex etc.) in order to gain traffic. This skill is enough to fetch you the average of $250 per month…
  • App Store optimization, ASO
  • Video Marketing
  • Music Promotion

  • PPC, CPC, CPA marketing
  • Social media marketing
  • and so on

You can learn any of these and start making money with them.

  1. Online Survey

There are different companies that needed reviews or rating especially the start-ups in order to build more trust and acquire more customers. So to achieve this, they sometimes bring up an opportunity for people to rate or review them.

This is what I’m saying, If I’m just starting a new company or I have a company that I want people to buy or use my service, I will do anything legally to attract them.

If you’re a business owner, one of the best way to attract more sales is to build portfolios and good testimonies from customers. So, online survey is like building more testimonies for a company.

In most cases, these companies needed these reviews to know about how they can increase their productivity, branding and how to meet customers’ satisfaction.

If I have interest in selling the products on AliExpress but unfortunately, I don’t have money to buy and ship this products to my place, I can selling use a plugin a dropship to my website.

This plugin will import these products’ images, titles, descriptions and prices into my website. Then I will start promoting them on my website and if I can edit the details of each product.

The amazing thing is that, if a product cost $25, I can edit it to $55. If any person buy it, I will give $25 to AliExpress and my profit on that single product will be $30.

This is far lucrative than affiliate marketing if you are ready to invest. The investment is to create your own website and buy the AliDrop plugin.

A dropshipper is someone engaged in this business.

6 ways to Make Money with Cryptocurrency in Nigeria

If you’re in Nigeria but thinking about starting a lucrative business, I’m happy to share these 6 amazing ways you can make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria without getting scammed.

Although, there are hundred ways to make money online in Nigeria but cryptocurrency and other digital currencies are gaining more influence than any other online businesses in this country.

Since the introduction of Bitcoin, the use of digital currency has multiplied greatly in Nigeria and the world at large. Though it’s not widely accepted as a suitable means of making payments in all banks in Nigeria but, cryptocurrency is a sure way to make money online in Nigeria.

It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. But I know those people who have gotten insanely rich because of these digital currencies.

Do you wish to join the leagues of Bnaira?

Who is Bnaira?

Bnaira is one of the rich young guys who are smart enough to make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria without defrauding others. He shows his luxury lifestyles on Instagram and that has motivated a lot of other Nigerians to start this business.

Since cryptocurrency is gradually gaining wide acceptance and people are making money with it, I’ll be showing you 6 ways in which you can make money with Cryptocurrency in Nigeria.

But before then, i will also like you to read this 6 ways you can make money on Instagram in Nigeria

Let go;

How To Make Money Online with Cryptocurrency in Nigeria

  1. Adopting cryptocurrency as a means of payment:

This option will appeal more to business owners.

If you’re a business person you can may be thinking how is it possible to make money with Cryptocurrency in Nigeria where it’s not sold in banks.

One of the quirks of the crypto world is its constant changing value, owners of business can take advantage of this.

Once you begin accepting payments using digital currency, you can sell to people who wish to buy digital currencies, the value of the currency should be in your favor in respect to your business before selling.

All you have to do is to create your own wallet with Blockchain, Luno or other cryptocurrency exchange websites in Nigeria.

This is not a safe way of making money with cryptocurrency but it’s a sure way if you can manage the risks involved.

  1. Through cryptocurrency trading

This is probably the best way to make money with digital currency in Nigeria – cryptocurrency trading.

Each type of currency has several different underlying factors which affect the price of it.

Bitcoin has certainly been the most successful one, but that’s mainly because of its wide acceptance. Especially if you go on to shop anything out on the online, you’ll wonder if Bitcoin is greater than US dollar.

There are several companies who provide the platform for trading cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, they include; Luno, Reminato, Quidax, paxful etc.

Check here: Top 11 Cryptocurrency Exchange Websites in Nigeria

These companies bring together traders from all work of life together and makes it easier for them to trade on digital currency.

  1. Buy and hold digital currency

This is one of the easy methods in terms of how to make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria. The process involves buying the preferred coin and holding until the price appreciates. Then, sell the coin for a profit.

The method is among the strategies that many investors in cryptocurrencies use. For example, when an ICO is announced, people buy the native coins in large quantities because the price is low. Then, they sell them for a profit when the tokens hit the market, and the price appreciates because of demand.

For those who will like to make cash with digital currencies in Nigeria you should try out this option. As I mentioned above, there are platforms which can assist you in achieving this.

  1. Earn cryptocurrency dividend

Another smart way to make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria is buying and holding the coins that pay dividends. Some cryptocurrencies, especially those that use a proof of stake (PoS) consensus algorithm, encourage people to buy the native coins and holding them to secure the network.

In return, the coin holders are paid a dividend. This method was thought to be a better way of securing the crypto network as coin holders would find it hard to conspire to harm the network holding their investment.

Some of the digital coins that delivered high returns to investment to holders include Bitcoin, Ethereum and Reddcoin and I will say you take advantage of this.

  1. Mining

Mining is another way to make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria.

I’ll that this is the most difficult way to make money with digital currency, because of Its technicality. People turn to mining for one of two reasons: either it’s their hobby or they hope to make it rich. If it’s a hobby, you can use your own computer with no additional investments.

Types of Cryptocurrency Mining

There are three basic types of mining – Home, cloud and industrial or large scale mining.

  • Home mining

In home mining you have to spend longer hours at your computer resolving algorithms that become more and more complex. You should note that the price of computing power rises as cryptocurrency prices fluctuate, the possibility of returns becomes uncertain.

  • Cloud mining

Miners turn to cloud mining to slash hardware and energy costs by leasing mining hardware or hashing power from a remote datacenter.

There are companies which offer cloud mining but most of them are not profitable.

  • Large Scale mining

Large-scale commercial mining uses powerful processors that draws several megawatts of electricity, enough to light a thousand houses .

If you’re willing to make huge bucks I’ll advise you go for mining cryptocurrency, but remember you’ll have to invest a lot in it. Internet connectivity isn’t that great in Nigeria, the same can be said with our electricity. If you can make provisions for these you’ll be making a lot money from cryptocurrency.

  1. Free cryptocurrency

Earning free digital currencies is another way to make money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria. Some of us may not be able to afford the price for purchasing cryptocurrencies which is why there’s a free option, but you won’t earn that much.

There are many website or apps that offer free cryptocurrencies. They are called ‘faucets‘.

Since Bitcoin is the more popular cryptocurrency among others, most of these faucets offer free Bitcoin.

These faucets have you do menial tasks such as solving captchas, playing games, clicking on ads, or watching videos. For each task you do, you earn a small amount of Bitcoin.

Example is Freebitco.in this is a website that offer certain amount of bitcoins for solving captchas. Freebitco.in offers you little amount of bitcoins every one hour, that is after earning you’ll have to wait for the next hour to earn again. Before withdrawing from the platform, you’ll need to get to a specified amount.

They also do jackpots which you can partake in.

This way of earning isn’t really an option for people who are already involved in hectic, full-time jobs.

In conclusion, making money with cryptocurrency in Nigeria is really viable. Some have taken it as a full time job while others see it as a means of earning passive income. I know of a woman, trading cryptocurrency has become a full time job for her, she stays at home making cool cash, she uses the profits to train her son in who’s in one of the higher institutions.

So if you’ve been nursing the idea of starting the time is now, why not join others who are earning massively from this?

Trying to start a freelance business in Nigeria is one hell of a task. It comes with ups and downs, stiff competition because of the over saturated freelance space.

I know you might feel like quitting after reading the introductory paragraph, fear not! I’m here to share some tips on how to start and grow as a freelancer in the Nigerian market.

One unique benefit of being a freelancer is its flexibility-you don’t have to work from 9-5, nobody is going to control you and your time, nobody is going to enslave you and pay for one-third of time you spends working with him/her.

There are tons of services you services you can offer as a freelancer. If you’re interested in being paid for services rendered and you don’t know where to begin, this post is for you.

How to Start Freelance Business in Nigeria Without Spending a Dime

  1. CHOOSE YOUR FIELD(s)

Before starting a freelance business in Nigeria it’s advisable you choose your field or fields of interest.

There are several services which you can offer, services like Writing, Digital Marketing, Web Design, Graphic Design etc.

Being a successful freelancer requires you to choose a skill(s) that is marketable. When choosing your field, be mindful of the marketability of that skill. Writing for instance has a higher market value than translation services because there’s much higher demand for writers than translators.

So whatever field you choose to specialize on, make sure it has a market value because as the title above suggest, freelancing is a business and the purpose for doing business is to make profit.

2. SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS

So you’ve chosen your field, the next step is to sharpen your skills.

The popular saying “no man is an island” is quite correct. You don’t know it all, knowledge is gained everyday. The knowledge you’ve gained over the years may have become obsolete.

As a freelancer, you’re expected to grow in your field each day, there’s a stiff competition for places and if you don’t update your existing skills, those familiar with the latest trend will give you a run for your money.

You need to know that the freelance market in Nigeria is highly competitive and those who stand out keep updating their knowledge each day.

3. ENGAGE WITH OTHERS IN YOUR FIELD

In the process of sharpening your skills, you also need to engage with others that are doing what you’re doing.

You can do this by joining Facebook groups or forums online that share similar interest to what you do. With this you get a chance to meet those who are already in the system. Inquire about the best practices in your field and be open to learning from others.

Being an open minded person will increase your creativity because you’ll learn from others(including your juniors) and see things from their own perspective.

Remember, you’ve not gotten there yet. To be the best, you have to learn from the best!

4. BUILD YOUR PROFILE

As a freelancer, you’re seen as a brand. You need to let people know about what you do during their first encounter with you.

Your social media handle should suggest to people what you do, you never know where your first freelance job will come from. As you practice your skill(s), try to market yourself by letting people know about you online. The reason I suggest online is because; most businesses are getting digitalized, you don’t want to be left behind.

The best way to  profile your brand online is making use of your social media bio. Your bio should indicate the services you render, this is a form of advertising.

5. CREATE A STRATEGIC PLAN

As the popular saying goes; “he who fails to plan, plans to fail”!

Becoming a freelancer requires adequate planning. For those who have the regular 9-5 job, you don’t want to jeopardize everything because of lack of a plan. There’s a time for everything, as an aspiring freelancer you need to set out time that wouldn’t interfere with your current job.

Once you’ve created your plan, you’ll be well prepared to go into freelancing.

6. SEEK OUT FOR GIGS

I highlighted the competitive nature of freelancing in Nigeria during my introduction. This is the hardest part as an aspiring freelancer- seeking for jobs.

After going through rigorous training the bitter truth is this; you don’t deserve anything, no company or individual is going is hire you because of your training, you have to go into the marketplace and prove to your clients that you deserve the job.

Thankfully, there are platforms that breaches the gap between a client and a freelancer.

Popular Platforms to Start Freelance Business in Nigeria

  • Fiverr
  • PeoplePerHour
  • Truelancer
  • ASUQU
  • Jo-Lancer
  • Source Gig
  • Alance.co
  • Elance
  • Upwork
  • Craigslist

These sites makes it easier to find client once you know how to use them. Personally, I started with fiverr and since then, I’ve earned thousands of dollars from the freelancing platform.
?cid=1395168
Before choosing any of the above platforms, familiarize yourself with their terms and conditions, mode of payment and other requirements.

When seeking for your first job as a freelancer, don’t be selective, do as many as you can regardless of the price. Remember, you’re just starting out.

7. CREATE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION

As a freelancer, it’s important you show your clients how go your are. Although some clients may give you time to grow, most clients judge you based on your first job.

Your first job as a freelancer is very important, it’ll decide if a client continues with you or they’ll kick you out.

Referrals is becoming a norm in the job space today, most companies request for referrals when you submit an application. Your first job may determine if you’ll get the next one, with a good performance it’ll be easier for a client to refer and recommend you to others.

Giving a good first impression doesn’t mean you do your first job well and do the rest badly, your clients will take someone else when you offer substandard services.

  1. Freelancing:

Skills like Digital Marketing, Writing, Web and Graphic design are of high demand due to technological advancements.

Most students in higher institution have Laptops or smartphones. If well utilized, your smartphone or laptop could make you lots of cash.

Few years ago, these skills were only accessible to those who can afford money to learn them. But today, most of this skills can be learnt online, some even offer you certification at the end of the course. YouTube is another learning resource, you can learn most of these skills by watching videos uploaded by YouTubers on your device.

If you’ve gotten good knowledge about these IT skills, it’ll go a long way in fetching you money as a student. Most businesses are going online, this increases the demand for these skills which I’ll advise students to take advantage of.

  1. Investing in Cryptocurrency and Stock market:

This two businesses are very lucrative right now and will continue to be in the future.

Growing up we had the illusion that the stock market was for the well-to-do business men and women. That has been debunked because young people who are not so “well-to-do” are beginning to take advantage of the stock market. Learning how to trade stocks and cryptocurrencies will require professional assistance. Thankfully, seminars on stock market and cryptocurrency are being done regularly, students can pick a Saturday and avail themselves for these kind of seminars.

Investing in cryptocurrency and stocks is very profitable if done properly. I will advise any student who wants to be financially stable to take advantage of this.

  1. Lesson/Tutorials:

Most students find it difficult to grab some certain concepts that are been taught in our higher institutions. Sometimes, it is due to the student’s short comings or the lecturers. Some students are unable to comprehend things that are been taught by some lecturers as most of these lecturers are very strict.

Back in secondary school, my chemistry teacher made me and other students hate chemistry because of his approach to teaching. But during a biology class, our biology teacher explained an aspect of chemistry that was related to the current biology topic, coincidentally, what he explained was our current chemistry topic. The whole class was in shock as to how simple it was after he explained it, we then begged him to be our chemistry teacher, he felt compassion for us but he declined, it actually wasn’t in his hand to take such decision.

What is the point here? Not all students will comprehend lectures, so if you’re an “intelligent” student you can take advantage of this and make some cash.

  1. Painting:

Most students may not be comfortable with this, but I’m beginning to some of them go into painting.

Painting doesn’t require any certification and can be learnt easily, you can learn from a friend who paints and afterwards you can start making your money from painting.

  1. Catering Services:

If you’re good at this, you can as well take advantage of it. If you don’t how to bake, it’s very easy to learn.

This should appeal to the ladies who may need money for a thing or two. You can bake cake or other ‘bake-ables’ and sell to others, especially during weekends as most celebrations happen during weekends. Doing this will serve as a source of income in the long run.

  1. Fashion Design:

If you have a good eye for fashion, fashion design will be a good way to make money. However, you need to learn some things about the current trend to be a good fashion designer.

Making people look good is a sure fire way to make money especially on weekends, as it doesn’t affect the academic aspect of your life.

  1. Music/DJ services:

If you have passion for music, you can download any music DJ application on your laptop, learn how to use it and you are in business.

There is always demand for DJs on weekends for several events and this is surely going to fetch you some money.

  1. Sale Of Fashion Items:

Students on campus love to look trendy and therefore buy cloths, foot wears, handbags, jewelries and other body accessories quite often.

If you could get these wears in bulk at reduced price from big suppliers, you will surely make much money from the trade.

  1. MC/Comedy Service:

If you can make people laugh and can also speak eloquently, just learn the rudiments of being a Master of Ceremony via the internet and you are good to go. Just like DJs, MCs are always requested for in events. Your first successful hosting of an event, may be at a friend’s birthday party, is enough to get you referrals.

Those are my top 10 ways you can make money as a student

Making money shouldn’t be stressful as a student, you should be able to balance your business and academic life.

Most of these services I’ve shared can be done on weekends, so it won’t affect you academically.

Access Bank Acquires Diamond Bank – See Reasons

0

The trending news in the banking industry as at this moment is that Access Bank has acquires Diamond Bank after long speculations.

According to the cable, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will soon make the official announcement and next action to take over the bank fully will be announced by the Access Bank’s Management.

It could be recalled that Diamond Bank had earlier announced that the bank has decided to drop its International Operating Licence in order to deal earnestly with the local or national banking due to capitalisation issues.

According to TheCable, Access Bank legally acquires Diamond Bank through the Nigeria’s apex bank, CBN in order to make Nigeria’s banking industry stronger like their counterparts in the world.

The acquisition was confirmed by Diamond Bank’s CEO, Uzoma Dozie in a statement released three days ago (precisely on Friday). He was quoted that with this approval, Diamond Bank will stop operating as international bank.

He added that the re-licensing as a national bank supports Diamond Bank’s objective to provide a banking system that operates only in Nigerian retail banking market, some other available opportunities and the nation’s economy.

Uzoma further said that the move is in accordance with Diamond Bank’s decision to sell out its international operations which contained the selling out of its West Africa subsidiaries in the year 2017 and also the UK branch which is in the final stage to be sold out as well.

Read: How to Make Money on Instagram for Free

He further explained that the relegation to local or national bank is beneficial to the bank in such a way that they can now live on 10% capital requirement instead of 15% required for international banks.

Before Access Bank acquired Diamond bank, the bank (diamond) recorded share plunging to 0.61k per unit on November, 2018 which is the worst to be recorded.

Same thing happened to Skype bank before it was also acquired by Polaris. Some banks are just hustling, struggling and enduring among the competitors just like other banks but, only the powerful ones will remain.

What do you think about this? Is it okay for Access bank to acquire Diamond Bank? Kindly share your opinion using the comment box below.

Instagram is a photo and video-sharing platform created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. It was launched on the 6th of October, 2010 exclusive for iOS users only. But now, it’s also available on Android devices. Instagram started growing in fame and numbers when it was acquired by Facebook Inc.

Since then, celebrities have chosen Instagram as their favorite zone to interact with their fans and that’s why Instagram rapidly climbed to be of the most visited website within a few years of its launch.

  • Time spent daily on Instagram is very high compared to other social sites
  • Business-minded people are on Instagram not talkative
  • And so on

A business without an Instagram page is not yet a business in this digital age. That’s why people who use Instagram spend hefty money in order to gain more visibility and acquire more followers.

Now let’s talk about how you can make money on Instagram, I know this is what you have been waiting for.

How to Make Money on Instagram

  1. Affiliate Marketing:

If you have quality followers, you can make money on IG through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is very easy but needs you to input your sense of marketing.

This is how it works:

You partner with a company that sells either products or services related to your audience or targeted niche. These companies always welcome different publishers to help them promote their products while you earn a commission on each successful sale. You don’t need to spend a dime before partnering with these companies.

Few affiliate programs you can join to make money on Instagram:

  • Amazon – you can promote any product or service here irrespective of your niche or quantity of followers as long as you know the marketing strategies that work for each product or service which your followers or targeted audience will convert with.
  • Clickbank – Same thing as Amazon
  • Jumia, Konga & Jiji Affiliate Program – These are better if you wish to promote local products within Nigeria.
  • Siteground, Namecheap, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc – These are better if your followers or targeted audience deal with the website, hosting, and domain stuff
  • eBay
  • ShareAsale
  • Impact Radius
  • You can do better searching on google for more affiliate programs you can join.

After joining any of these programs, get your referral link (of that particular stuff you wish to promote), but the link in your bio, and start convincing your followers why they need to buy those particular products.

If you can be doing this consistently with engaging photos or videos, a few (if not some) of your followers or targeted audience may be triggered to buy using the link on your bio.

This is not that easy but it will be easier if you take enough of your time to do market and audience research. Try as much as possible to understand the type of ‘hot’ products or services they are interested in. After that, give them what they want with serious and engaging marketing.

NOTE: commissions here are pretty okay as they are paid in dollars with respect to what and how expensive what you sold was.

  1. Sponsored Posts:

This is another and most common way of making money on Instagram. But, it just doesn’t come easily as joining an affiliate program or so.

For you to enjoy this opportunity, you must have a number of real and engaging followers.

Different companies, media partners, or individuals will contact you themselves if they are convinced that running a sponsored post on your Instagram page will be beneficial to them.

Popular Instagram pages with good numbers of followers like instablog9ja, gossipmill, and some other influencers are making cool money selling sponsored posts on their page and their charges are pretty expensive but those companies or individuals that contact them for exposure knew that the charges are worth it.

You can also start building a good and engaging IG page today and see how things change for better for you.

But if none contacted you for sponsored posts or exposure, you can as well join some advertising agencies to help you get sponsored posts. To join these agencies, it’s FREE. Below are a few of them:

Try to sign up with those websites above and see how they can help you make money on Instagram.

  1. Selling Your Own Products:

Instagram can help you make more sales if you understand your consumers and how your products or service can help them. You can create many products either digitally or consumable (durable).

You can create digital products like e-books. If you are skilled in a particular field and you know that you can teach, kindly write an e-book about that particular skill and start selling. Sometimes, you may need to create digital products inform by videos.

You can also offer a solution to people’s problems by creating physical products. This can be based on how to last longer in bed (herbal medicines), growing natural hair, butt, or boobs. If you have strong marketing strategies, you can make money on Instagram by selling these problems to people who need them.

In digital products, you can send them to those who paid for them through your website or landing page. But for products like herbal medicines Etc., you will need to deliver to those who paid through some means you can get the product to that person.

  1. Sell Your Photos Online:

As you might have known that Instagram deals with two basic types of content which are Videos and Photos. But there are tons of websites outside there that are ready to buy those beautiful pictures from you.

To sell your photos, you will need to list them on the photography marketplace such as twenty20 and 500px.

5 Easy Steps to Register Business Name in Nigeria; Get Availability Code

11

You might have been asking questions like, ‘How much does it cost to register business name in Nigeria? Or ‘How can I get my availability code?’ And so on. But, stay calm as I will walk you through the complete steps in getting your business name registered in Nigeria and also, how to get your availability code to complete your business name registration.

If you are launching your business or company in Nigeria soon, one of the most important things you should take care of is registering your business or company with the Corporate Affairs Commission also known as CAC.

Gone are those days you must visit the CAC office before you can register a business name in Nigeria. But now, due to technology and its advancement, Nigeria’s CAC has made it possible for us to register our business name online at any convenient time and place with our laptop or smartphone and, everything will be completed without any issue….. Thanks to technology!

Although, I have published a blog post about how you can register your business name with CAC in Nigeria using Offline or Online method.

But a few days ago, a reader stumbled on the post through google search engine but after reading, she said it’s not clear to her which I decided to make clear through this blog post that focuses only on how you can register your business name or company in Nigeria with CAC without visiting any outlets.

About Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC

CAC, an acronym for Corporate Affairs Commission was founded in 1990. It’s in charge of regulating the formation and management of companies in Nigeria.

So in this blog post, I will teach you the easiest method of registering your business name or company with the corporate affairs commission using the online method and also, how to get your approval through your own special availability code.

Let start!

How to Register Business Name in Nigeria (Get Availability Code)

We are going to discuss this in different parts for easy understanding. But make sure you have your ATM card with you because you are going to pay for this business name registration.

PART A – How to Create An Account on CAC Website

We are just going to create an account on CAC’s official website to kickstart your business name registration

Just follow the steps below:

  • Go to http://www.services.cac.gov.ng/signup to create an account
  • Fill in the necessary details and make sure you use your legal name as it appears on your National I.D card or any Nigeria’s government-issued card.
  • After filling your details, click on the ‘Register‘ button

Immediately, a verification link will be sent to your email address as you have earlier filled in, verify and login to your dashboard.

PART B: How to Reserve a Business Name for Registration in Nigeria

Because many people register different business names with CAC daily, you need to be smart if you don’t want your preferred business name to be registered by someone else before you do.

So, the CAC gives you the opportunity to reserve that preferred business name for 60 days. It’s even a ‘must’ to reserve your business name before you can finally register it in Nigeria.

How can I reserve my business name with CAC?

The steps below answers:

  • Login to your verified account or go to http://www.services.cac.gov.ng/login or http://www.services.cac.gov.ng/dashboard
  • You will see ‘Reserve a Name‘ in bold text, under it you will see a call-to-action link ‘here‘, click on it.
  • After clicking on that, you are going to be directed to a new page where you will reserve your business name.

But, note these steps in ‘Reserve a Name’ page:

  • Name & Type: Choose ‘Business Name‘ and enter the business name you wish to Register. Here, you will have to provide two names if in case one is taken, the other might be ready for you.
i.e, you can choose like: (1) MyCompany Global Ventures (2) MyCompany Global Resources
  • Objective: Under ‘Reason for Availability Search‘, choose ‘New Incorporation‘ and choose your business category under ‘Nature of Business‘.

But you may be asking…

What to Choose Under “Nature of Business”?

If you’re running a restaurant business, simply click on the drop-down and choose a very suitable category of the business there.

But, if you are going to run more than one business like selling clothes, running a private school, selling cars, wines, running a digital marketing firm, the printing of recharge cards, etc… I will advise you to choose ‘General Contracts’ under the nature of the business.

And this is exactly what I did because General Contracts indicate every business you may be engaged in.

Choosing ‘General Contracts’ during business name registration means that you are going to be running more than one business under a single registered business name. And this will save you from wasting money on registering another business name in the future.

  • Presenter Details: Here, you are going to input your details again including your means of identification either through National I.D card, PVC, Birth Certificate, Driver’s Licence.
  • Preview: You will be giving an opportunity to confirm all your details including your chosen business name, address, names, email, phone number, etc.
If the details are correct, click on the ‘Proceed to Payment’ button.
  • Payment: You will have to pay for the name reservation with your ATM card.

How much is Business Name Reservation with Nigeria’s CAC

Note, this costs N500 apart from the transaction fees. N600 was debited from my client’s though while N661.44 was deducted from my debit card.

After payment, a receipt of your payment will be sent to you.

Since you have paid the N500 for the business name reservation and your payment has been confirmed, the next thing is to confirm if your business name is approved by CAC for registration.

PART C: How to Know If Your Business Name is Approved By CAC.

The steps below will teach you how to check your business name approval status on the CAC Website:

===> Go to: http://services.cac.gov.ng/login
===> login with your username and password
===> Click on the “Name Search” tab
===> Click on the “My Reservation History” tab

  • You will see your approval status under the ‘My Reservation History’ tab.

If your business name is lucky to be approved successfully, a big congratulations to you. Now, let proceed to complete the registration.

But, before completing your business name registration on CAC Website, you will need to get your availability code.

What is the Availability Code?

Availability Code is a special number that will be given to you to complete your business name registration in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission’s website.

Without this code, it’s quite impossible to fully register a business name.

PART D: How to Get Your Availability Code for CAC’s Business Name Registration

Note that the availability code is on the approval note which you will have to download from the CAC official website.

Now, let do it;

Simply follow the steps in PART C first and after that, you seeing your business name which has been approved, proceed the step below:

===> Click on ‘Action button
===> Then click on ‘View Payment History’
===> Immediately, a page will appear telling you to save a ‘PDF’ file. Save or download the file to desktop on your PC or save in a folder you can easily access on your phone
===> After saving the PDF file, open it and you will see a ‘serial number’. If you see it, then you have seen your availability code!

Finally, let complete your business name registration on the CAC portal.

PART E: Completing Business Name Registration Using the Availability Code

Since you have gotten your availability code, let finalize everything now.

===> Go to https://services.cac.gov.ng/company-registration/application
===> Enter your availability code
===> If it’s correct, complete your business name registration and that’s all.

But wait, you may be asking…..

How Much Does It Cost To Register A Business Name in Nigeria?

The cost to register a business name in Nigeria with the cooperate affairs commission (CAC) varies because it depends on the type of business.

In this article, I won’t write down all the fees here but note that the reserving form fee is N500
The business name registration form fee starts from N10,000. And if you’re going to register a company, be ready to pay the high cost because there are differences between an enterprise and a company.

But currently, there is a 50% discount which means you’re going to pay N5,000 only for business name registration in Nigeria. (UPDATED: This offer is expire and you will need to pay full amount)

Note: If you are a big company, expect to pay more than this. Click here for a full list of the various price.

CONCLUSION: How to Register Business Name in Nigeria

I have aligned the complete steps on how you can register a business name in Nigeria with CAC and how you can get your availability code for completing the registration.
