Unilorin Commences UTME Screenings For 64,000 Applicants

On Monday, the University of Ilorin has commenced their University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening for the 64,000 candidates who are seeking admission into the school for the academic session of 2017/2018.

The Deputy Director of the University Corporate Affairs Department, Mr Akogun told the News Agency of Nigeria in ilorin that about 104,000 candidates applied for the screening but unfortunately, 64,000 were selected based on their performances.

Mr Akogun added that only 11,000 successful candidates will be admitted out of the 64,000 candidates who will be screened.

The 11,000 successful candidates that will be admitted into the various programmes of the institution after the exercise based will be based also on their capacity. The deputy director told NAN that the university’s cut-off mark had been pegged at 180 as the minimum.

He said that every department was expected to come up with its own cut-off mark.
