Cristiano Ronaldo Named As UEFA’s Player of The Year While Lieke Martens Won the Women’s Prize
C. Ronaldo Beat Messi To Win the UEFA 2017’s Player of the Year Award
The famous football player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the UEFA’s player of the year (2017).
Ronaldo barged the honour after beating Barca’s frontline, Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Buffon, the Juventus Keeper to the prize.
Cristiano Ronaldo who is just 31-years-old and the captain of Portugal football team have really helped Real Madrid to a second UEFA champions league title consecutively and ended the tournament as the top scorer with 12 goals last season.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now won the UEFA’s best player of the year award three times while having more “Won” than Lionel Messi who have won such award two times.
Lieke Martens Also Won the Woman’s Prize at UEFA 2017
Netherland Midfielder Lieke Martens, a 24-years-old player from Barcelona have also won herself the women’s prize.
Lieke Martens is also a great player in her country’s European Championship victory this season, where she was named the player of the tournament.
She defeated Wolfsburg striker Pernille Harderand, Lyon midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsan to claim the prize.
England striker Jodie Taylor and right-back Lucy Bronze were named in the top 10, but missed out on the top three, voted for by coaches and journalists.
