A Retired Soldier Slumped And Died After Watching Nigerian’s Players Lose To South Africa

It sounds funny though but was too catastrophic as a retired soldier slumped and died after hearing that Nigeria’s loses to South Africa at the African Cup Qualifier match in Uyo, Nigeria where Nigeria’s Super Eagle was whipped 2 canes by Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

According to The PUNCH, the retired soldier known as Joseph Oloruntoju is said to have vacated his apartment to Owena Army barracks in Akure to watch the football with his friend.

According to reports, Joseph Oloruntoju slumped after South African team scored their second goal and was immediately rushed to a private hospital and was confirmed dead afterwards.

The PRO of the 32 Artillery Brigade of Nigerian Army in Akure, Captain Ojo Adelegan confirmed the incident which he said Oloruntoju’s blood pressure rose too high rapidly which finally lead to his untimely death.

The captain said:

    “He is a retired sergeant. He has a shop at our mammy market (in the barracks). It was discovered that his blood pressure was overshot. It was while our doctors were saving his life that he gave up the ghost.”
