About Moon Jae-In, 19th South Korea President
President Moon Jae-in (몬 재 인) was born on 24 January 1953 and is elected as the 12th and current President of South Korea on May 2017 after the impeachment of Madam Gye-Hye.
Moon is a former human rights attorney and a student activist.
He was formally chief-of-staff to the late President Roh Moo-hyun, Mr Moon most recently served as the opposition leader of the Minjoo Party of Korea from 2015 to 2016 and a legislative member of the 19th National Assembly.
Previously, he was the Democratic United Party’s candidate for the 2012 presidential election after winning a majority in the party primaries, but losing narrowly to Park Geun-hye. He was elected to be the 19th president in the 2017 election.
Moon Jae-in Inaugural Vow
Moon Jae-In Became the Executive President of South Korea Yesterday, 9/5/2017 and he was sworn in officially.
Mr Moon Jae-in was sworn into office in Seoul’s National Assembly building a day after he won the recently polled election for presidential seat in South Korea.
Mr Moon, who was formally human a rights lawyer and son of North Korean refugees is known for his liberal views.
He also vowed to clear any shaft of corruption in the country and end the misconduct acts of former president, Madam Gye-Hye who was impeached couple of months ago for allegedly having hands in corruption with Samsung Company Chairman’s son on political bribe.
The South Koreans were very happy as they all believes that with Mr Moon Jae-In as their president, South Korea will move forward in every aspects.
