SaharaReporters Obtained Audio Tape Which Reveals Senator Dino Melaye’s Bribery To Justice Ikpeme During His Election Tribunal In 2015

Recently, SaharaReporters just obtain a exclusive audio tape which revealed how Senator Dino Melaye has compromised with Justice Akon Ikpeme who is the tribunal judge that handled his election case in 2015.

In the obtained audio tape, Justice (Mrs) Akon Ikpeme and Senator Dino Melaye’s telephone conversation was recorded and it was heard that the judge, Mrs Ikpeme was demanding for a bribe from Senator Dino Melaye in US currency, dollar.

The Judge, Mrs Akon Ikpeme also pleaded Senator Dino Melaye to assist a person Mr. Melaye usually referred to as her “daughter” secure a good job at the Cross Rivers State Ministry of Health.

According to SaharaReporters’ investigation, it was revealed that Justice Akon Ikpeme is legally married to a Cross Rivers Medical doctor, she is ranks number 3 in Cross Rivers state judiciary.

The audio tape obtained by SaharaReporters did not state if Justice Akon Ikpeme’s daughter successfully got a Job at the Cross Rivers State Ministry of Health but, in the second telephone conversation between Mrs. Ikpeme and Dino Melaye, the senator was mouthed bragging that he had talked with the governor of Cross Rivers State, Prof. Ben Ayade to secure a daughter a job.

Also in 2016, Justice Ikpeme dismissed a petition by Smart Adeyemi who is Senator Dino Melaye’s opponent, in respect to the plot to allow Senator Dino Melaye off the hook at the election tribunal.

When SaharaReporters met with Christian Ita, the spokesperson to the Cross Rivers State governor, the spokesperson said they could only locate a family member of Justice Ikpeme who is already a civic servant in Cross Rivers state before Prof. Ayade was elected as the Governor of the state in 2015.
