The 8-months-old baby Khadijah Bashir, was raped two months ago an unfortunate man who is said to be her mother friend’s husband in expectation of the man and his wife to make the baby s talismanic material who will fertile the man’s wife in order to give birth to a child as the man was reported to be childless.

The baby is now responding to treatment at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano after surgical operation from the injuries she encountered during the rape.
The Nigeria Firstlady and wife of the vice president, Aisha Buhari and Dolapo Osinbajo, has visited the baby yesterday.

The Kano State Government through the state Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba has thereby reacted to the situation yesterday.

The state governor, Gov. Ganduje has directed the state Ministry of Justice to prosecute “whoever
is involved in this sordid sexual crime.”
He said that law enforcers should investigate whoever that is found involved in this felonious act should be jailed for life.

He, the governor described the act as despicable, dastardly and condemnable, “which is alien to our religious and cultural values and stressed that the action clearly portrayed the perpetrator brutal, unanimous and the defaulters are entitled to nothing than the maximum punishment under the law.”

The state govt. also stated that it would settle the medical bill of the baby and advised her parents to always make sure that they keep and monitor the movement of their children or wards and those they keep company with. Religious leaders have also been urged to use their places of worship to proclaim the adverse effects of such felonious acts and other social hecks in the
Communities.
